In Florida the legislation known as the Florida Medical Marijuana Legalization Initiative, or Amendment 2, was approved and the law expanded the protection for medical marijuana in Florida to include medical conditions other than cancer and the few other medical conditions that were allowed before under the previous law. Medical marijuana in Florida for post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, is allowed under Amendment 2. In order to get your medical marijuana card in Florida for PTSD you must schedule an evaluation with a marijuana psychiatrist who is certified by the state to treat PTSD with medical marijuana. Patients with PTSD can choose to have their medical marijuana evaluation and treatment over the phone, a practice known as telemedicine.
